Welcome To Calvert MMA Academy

Relson Gracie Fight

The Calvert MMA Academy is the home of Relson Gracie's Maryland Training Academy, offering instruction in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts, Muay Thai, Self-Defense, and Law Enforcement Control Tactics.

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu has been considered by many to be the most complete and effective martial art in the world.  Unlike other disciplines which rely heavily on physical strength and speed, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu relies on superior technique and leverage.  Whether you want to learn self-defense or have aspirations of competing in the "Octagon"; Calvert MMA Academy is for you.

Start training today in Southern Maryland's only certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt School!

Consumer Warning:

When choosing a Martial Arts School beware of fraudulent claims made by some local schools offering Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu programs.  Instructors should be able to easily prove without a doubt their experience and belt rank, from a credible source.  Also, don't sell yourself short by being conned into signing up for just a "no-gi" program.  Every top level jiu-jitsu fighter in MMA has mastered the "gi game".  The school you chose should offer you training in both gi and no-gi fighting.
